A lover of all things antique and vintage, with a special interest in vintage items from the 1930/40’s, found her dream compact bag at IACF Shepton Mallet.
The vintage compact handbag collector has always dreamt of owning a Kamra-Pak styled bag, Cate explains. The bags were extremely popular in the 1930s-1950s and resembled compact cameras of the time. Unfortunately, most of the Kamra-Pak compacts that are found these days are damaged which has prevented Cate from purchasing one.
Cate says her ‘dream came true’ when she found this ‘stunning, almost mint condition one at the IACF Antique Fairs in Shepton’. She goes on to say that what makes the bag she found so different, is that it’s bigger than the ones you usually find, it’s finished in a beautiful dark green, real suede, rather than enamel and has a handle!
